Anchors Aweigh Charters, Inc. of Amelia Island, Florida is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization and provides fishing charters, free of charge to those with permanent physical and/or developmental disabilities as well as those diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Established in 1997 by Captain Steve and Wanda Hair of Amelia Island, FL, Anchors Aweigh Charters, Inc. has provided countless numbers of men, women and children an opportunity that may have been impossible caused by limitations due to their conditions.

They believe that the objective of fishing is not always to catch fish but that being on the water is therapy for the soul.
Captain Steve and Wanda Hair have modified their 36 foot charter boat, Ye Ole Pirate, to include a wheelchair loading ramp, wheelchair stabilizing devices, a large number of extra hand holds and several other patented handicapped devices on the vessel.  This provides the highest level of safety and comfort for everyone aboard.  All fishing tackle, bait and even specialized gear is provided according to your needs. 

We now can provide our guests with the finest electric fishing reel drives available, courtesy of ELEC-TRA-MATE.

WWII Veteran Boyd and his lovely wife Ruby set sail with their 2 granddaughters on an afternoon cruise, with Captain Steve Hair.  Boyd is our first of many disabled US Veterans who will be joining us this year.
